TFT Treatments

Anxiety states take a number of forms. The following are the most common:
-
Generalised: a constant feeling of anxiety with no identifiable cause.
"Nervousness": associated with interviews, exams, "cold-calling", etc.
Social: difficulty in relaxing on social occasions.
Performance: often called "stage fright", but can apply to all tasks.
Panic: acute and debilitating anxiety with no identifiable cause.
Grief / Anguish
Often associated with bereavement, the break up of a relationship, offspring leaving home, loss of employment, relocation, retirement, etc.
Obsessions / Compulsions
Usually known as "Obsessive Compulsive Disorder" or, in short, OCD.
OCD may manifest itself in many forms, e.g. obsession with hygiene or germs, compulsive hand-washing, excessive light-switch or door-lock checking, ritual behaviour patterns (those which cause distress if not carried out), and so on.
Phobias & Fears
It is perfectly normal to be fearful of certain situations, e.g. crossing a busy road, climbing a tall ladder, etc.. When that fear becomes overwhelming and out of all proportion to the situation or circumstance it becomes an irrational fear - a phobia.
Common fears and phobias include Heights, Flying, Driving, Public Speaking, "Cold-Calling", Medical and Dental Treatment, Animals, Insects, Spiders, Open Spaces, Enclosed Spaces, School Attendance, and many more...

Addictions (& Habits)
If the removal of a substance, object, or activity leads to the development of distressing symptoms then it is almost certain that an addiction is present. Such addictions are often self-destructive, the individual well aware of this but unable to change their behaviour because of the power of the addictive urge.
Common addictions include Nail-Biting, Smoking, Alcohol, Gambling, Shopping, Foodstuffs (e.g. Chocolate), Prescription Drugs (e.g. Painkillers), Abused Drugs (Heroin, Cocaine, "Designer" Drugs, etc.), and many more.
Acute Traumatic Stress
This includes the immediate psychological effects of Accidents, Injury, Crime, Physical Assault, Rape, Abuse (Physical, Emotional, Sexual), Conflict, and so on.
In all cases, immediate treatment allows the individual to become free of the distress caused. This is of particular value where witness statements must be obtained, for example by the Police. In the absence of acute psychological trauma, memory is clearer and recall more accurate.
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
Long after a traumatic event is over, the individual may still suffer from anxiety symptoms, nightmares, tremor, etc. The more severe the initial distress the more likely PTSD is to develop. Victims of Crime, Terrorism, War, Child Abuse, Major Accidents, Miscarriage and similar devastating events, can benefit considerably from TFT.
Performance Enhancement
Academic, Athletic and Professional performance all suffer from "block" at some time or another. At critical times - exams, competitions, sales negotiations, etc. - such a block to peak performance could be disastrous!
